Your Connection To Ukraine

Several months ago I sat in on a Zoom call with a new friend from Ukraine. I had only met her a few months before at Choices’ annual banquet, but her connection with Choices Resource Center runs deep. What many partners of the ministry may not know is that every month, Choices gives a portion of our funding to three pregnancy centers in the countries of Ukraine, Taiwan, and Romania. For 25 years it has been the desire of our board and staff to give a small portion of our funds to those in developing countries to help save lives there, too.

In 1997 Mission to Ukraine opened a pregnancy center across the hall from an abortion clinic. Since that time, more than 3,000 babies have been saved, and many of their mothers’ lives have been forever changed by the power of the gospel. Ira, the center’s director, shared that because of years of communist indoctrination, the value of individual human life is a new concept for the people of Ukraine. Under Soviet rule, the focus has been the overall good of the state, not individual lives. And one consequence of this belief is mindless abortion. Abortion is cheaper than birth control in Ukraine, so it is not uncommon to meet young women who have had 7-10 abortions.

Today, many in Ukraine have fully embraced democracy, and the only life they know is one of freedom. For us in the United States, watching what is happening in Ukraine right now is devastating even though few have personal connections. But if you have ever supported Choices Resource Center financially or through prayer, you have a personal connection! God has given you the privilege of helping save the lives of more than 3,000 children in Ukraine.

Join us as we pray for Ira and the entire staff of Mission to Ukraine. You can also follow them on Facebook. Their headquarters are located here in the States, and their staff is updating as much as they are able.

The king’s heart is like channels of water in the hand of the Lᴏʀᴅ; He turns it wherever He wishes” (Proverbs 21:1, NASB).

We know the One who holds all of this in His hands. Pray for His followers in Ukraine to be a light right now where darkness is trying to take over.
